Ideas That Influenced the Founding Fathers
The Enlightenment Era and the people who allowed the philosophical movement to gain traction were undoubtedly the most influential to the founding of the United States government. The Enlightenment Era was a movement during the 18th century that focused on reasoning and scientific rather than faith or obedience which were much more prominent in that time period. The founding fathers were influenced heavily by the ideas of different Enlightenment Era philosophers such as Thomas Hobbes, John Locke, Voltaire, Montesquieu, and Jean Jacques Rousseau.
